PRAISE and prayer for:

  • Venezuela Church of the Nazarene begins a Radio Station for Evangelism (see NEWS) Many areas of the world get radio when other media is not available.
  • Families of the Kingdom Ministerial Vision Church of the Nazarene is a church-type mission located in the village of El Guarapo, Venezuela. Believers are praising  the Lord for answered prayer, for recently, a man gave land to build a permanent church building
  • Bolivia JFHP Team report – Catalina’s testimony: “It is beautiful to know everything Jesus did for us. We are happy to be visited, as we often feel isolated from everything in our rural area. The Word is also needed here, so thank you for praying and taking care of those who live far away.”
  • from New Missionaries Andrew and Hayley Tarrant in Poland –  May 27th was our first English class at Cafe Sweet Surrender. which was taught by a Ukrainian teacher.  Natalia approached us with the idea of having her teach a beginners English course at Sweet Surrender. This was our first time charging a registration fee for any of our programs. The fee is used as an honorarium for Natalia’s service. She is serving her community of Ukrainians who are experiencing the same crisis as she is. It’s such an amazing thing to watch people thrive during war. They find ways to earn money, they find their community, they find opportunities for serving others, and they find ways to keep learning and growing. These are super women

PRAY for:

  • Ukraine – Three months into the war in eastern Europe, at least 1 in 3 Ukrainians now faces displacement. 14 million people have been forced to leave home, some have evacuated Ukraine and some have sought refuge elsewhere in their country.  The majority of families remain divided as most men, ages 18 to 60, cannot leave Ukraine with mothers and children as they seek safe, stable living conditions.  Please continue to pray for those seeking shelter within Ukraine, those relocating to other countries, and those grieving losses. Pray for church leaders and churches responding to the needs
  • from Andrew and Hayley Tarrant – Please pray with us as we grow and expand here in Poland.  March 2nd we greeted our first Ukrainian guests at the train station who happened to be a part of the Church of the Nazarene.  These first few Ukrainian friends ended up shaping and molding the centre into what it is today. Our philosophy was (and still is) to listen in order to respond in ways that actually help. The first expressed need was an activity for children. So our first program began the second week of March. Next we gathered on Sundays for Bible study and fellowship. Soon after we began recruiting Polish language teachers to teach Polish several times a week. Then,  along came our youth partner Joanna, who formed a Ukrainian-Polish youth group which meets at our centre on Saturdays. We’ve added several more programs based on the need for community, connection, and integration. Recently we began hosting a Tea Club for women who just want to feel a piece of home in their host city. And an English Café for adults who want to practice their English and meet people from other countries. Now we are hosting a games club and masterclasses for kids. Every week we discover new ways to minister to and help our Ukrainian guests start well here in Poznań.  Sweet Surrender will soon open to the public consistently as a coffee shop in order to cultivate relationships between our Ukrainian and Polish neighbours.
  • JFHP in Bolivia – 5 Teams,  22 team members,  1 language
    • Economic hardship abounds in Bolivia, but a poverty of spirit and discipleship intensifies the difficulty of daily life. Pray for teams to reach many lost, lonely, and hurting Bolivians with the hope of the gospel.
    • There is a need for increased discipleship in churches throughout Bolivia. Pray that the many oral learners in this country can deepen their understanding of scripture through tools like the audio Bible and Bible Story Cloth.
    • Many Bolivians attend churches where mixing indigenous religion with Christianity is acceptable. Pray that God will send teams and strengthen believers to combat the schemes of the enemy, so more can know salvation through Christ alone.

June is World Mission Broadcast Month.

Thousands of lives are transformed through the work of the Holy Spirit and World Mission Broadcast (WMB) programs.  WMB began as the Nazarene Radio League in 1944 and has expanded to a global network of programs contextualized for listeners and viewers around the world.   For more resources to promote WMB offering, go to nazarene.org/wmb
